When Helen Somerville took over Sandborne House Residential Home in 1997, and The Pines Residential Home in 2002, she decided to do things rather differently. Placing an emphasis on home rather than care home. They set out to create a welcoming and inviting abodes for adults with learning disabilities. This reflected in the strong community links and the fantastic reputation of the homes.

Realising the potential to enable some service users to become even more independent, in 2003 Helen opened Capstone Home, a unique and respected Supported Living home for 4 adults with a learning disability.

Then in 2005, The Pines Home Care was set up to provide a professional, reliable and highly individualised service for adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs in their own home. We continue to provide this unique service today and we are now based in Ringwood, covering Dorset and parts of Hampshire.
